What We Do
Every year we spay or neuter 1000s of animals in Northwest Ohio.

Planned Pethood provides free or low cost spay and neuter surgeries for low income families in the greater Toledo area.
In 2008, we received zero dollars in grant funding to support our efforts. We spent
$24,400
to assist families with their spay/neuter requests.
With this funding, we were able to spay or neuter
5524
dogs and cats in 2008. Of those,
1590
were pets that were fixed for free.
The money for these programs comes from available grants, volunteer-run fundraisers such as the Paw Hoorah and our rummage sale, and your donations.
We believe spay and neuter is the ultimate rescue!
Every year we find good homes for 100s of cats and dogs. In 2008, Planned Pethood found adoptive homes for 1381 cats, kittens, dogs and puppies.

In 2008, we found homes for
cats and kittens who might have otherwise ended up homeless or euthanized as unwanted.
Every cat we save comes from the Toledo area.

In 2008, we found good homes for
dogs and puppies that otherwise might have had dire endings with Planned Pethood.
Many of these dogs were rescued from local dog pounds where they were at high risk for euthanasia. Others were strays, or dogs whose owners could no longer care for them.
Every dog and puppy we save comes from northwest Ohio.
